Frequently Asked Questions

  • What makes your Chiropractic treatments different?

The Bodyfix Method is a unique chiropractic experience tailored to each unique individual. Generally speaking, it usually consists of a treatment that is roughly 15-20 minutes. The treatment consists of Dr. Mario using different soft tissue techniques and manipulation to work muscles, fascia, and ligaments. Dr. Mario’s method revolves around MOTION. If you leave one structure left untreated your ailment could shortly return. We are focused on quality, not timing.

  • What services do you offer?

We offer a unique chiropractic service, SpineMed decompression therapy, Summus class IV laser therapy.

  • How many visits do I need?

This depends on the patient and their needs/ diagnosis. Dr. Mario will recommend what he feels would work best to get patients results faster. Most common recommended visits for Patients with inflammation and higher pain levels is 2-3x a week for the first few weeks, then 1x week. For wellness patients, this varies from 1-2x a month.

  • Why are your treatments longer than others?

Most patients may be used to Chiropractic treatments that include 2-5 minute adjustments 3x per week. Our treatment takes longer due to Dr. Mario’s philosophy of carefully working multiple anatomical structures in order to produce more efficient, faster, and longer lasting results.

  • Do you have to adjust the neck?

NO! There are many people who are afraid of neck adjustments and find it to be a scary/vulnerable experience, especially for those new to chiropractic. Dr. Mario can suggest whether or not he thinks the neck adjustment would be beneficial to you based on your condition. Even if he suggests it, you can still say no! This is about your experience and your needs!

  • Do you take Insurance?

We do NOT accept or submit to insurance however, we do accept FSA/HSA as well as CARE Credit. For additional details on type of payments we accept, visit our payment options page.

  • What does Laser Therapy do?

Laser therapy, or low-level laser therapy (LLLT) or photobiomodulation, is a medical procedure that employs low-intensity laser light to activate cellular functions and support the healing process in different bodily tissues. This treatment entails applying precise light wavelengths to specific areas of the body, usually through a portable device.
These treatments are non-invasive, they do NOT hurt, and are GREAT for working towards resolving inflammation.

  • Are Chiropractors "Real" Doctors?

Yes. Chiropractors are Doctors that focus on different aspects of health care. In general, Chiropractors have an undergraduate degree in biology and then have approximately 4 years of chiropractic school to receive their Doctorate of Chiropractic. Time, stress, sweat, tears, and extensive anatomy, biology, and physiology go into achieving a Doctorate of Chiropractic degree.

  • Can Chiropractic Treatments be potentially painful?

Yes & No. Depends on the persons current health situation. Sometimes the restrictions in the muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and joints have been there for a long time so it takes a little strength to open them up initially. As treatments progress the pain is usually less but we always go to patient tolerance and NEVER do anything that the patient doesn’t want to do.

  • What should I wear to my appointment?

Women: Leggings, yoga pants, shorts, or any athletic wear. We want you to be comfortable. Also, please do not wear heavy makeup because you WILL lose it on the table paper. Dr. Mario will also ask Women with long hair to put it up in a high bun or high pony tail and remove any large earrings or necklaces.

Men: Shorts, sweat pants, t-shirt, or any athletic wear. Men will be asked to take off any belt or large objects in pockets.

**** Do not worry if you are unable to wear this to your appointment. We can usually work around any type of clothing, but it is ideal to wear looser and athletic clothing so that Dr. Mario can achieve the best results possible. We also want you to be comfortable. Please be advised that any area you want worked, that skin area may need to be exposed****

  • What should I feel after a BodyFix treatment?

You will feel pain relief and an increased range of motion the moment you get off the table. Slightly more pain or soreness is perfectly normal within 24-72 hours of post-treatment and should get better over progressive treatments.

  • Are there multiple Doctors?

No, Dr. Mario is our sole practitioner and will be your go to guide for all things diagnosis, examination, chiropractic, and discussion related.

  • Why are there so many different chiropractic philosophies/techniques?

People have different visions and belief systems with regards to producing results for patients. We think it is great because that means there is something for everyone! We always encourage trying different chiropractic offices if you desire because it gives you peace of mind on what works best for you!

  • With Wellness/Preventative Care, how often should I come?

Dr. Mario will make a recommendation for the patient, but ultimately it’s all up to you. We have patients that come 1x per week or we have patients that come 1x per month. The patient usually knows how long they can go between visits.

  • What is Preventative/Wellness Care?

It’s routine chiropractic checkups/treatments to keep your body functioning at 100%. Usually, the patient has little to no pain but wants to make sure there are no restrictions building up that will eventually cause pain. You can compare this idea to why we do oil changes and wheel alignments on cars.

  • What is a chiropractic adjustment?

In simple terms, it is all about increasing range of motion. When there is pain involved, it usually means there is something in the body that is not functioning properly. We give the joint a little “push” to get that range of motion back. If you would like to hear a more technical definition feel free to ask Dr. Mario at your next appointment!

  • Can I talk to the Doctor before I try a New Patient appointment just to get a vibe?

Yes, of course! Please call us so we can set up a 5-10 minute in-person or phone chat. We would love to talk about the BodyFix Method and see if we can help you!

  • How long has your Doctor been doing this for?

Dr. Mario is coming close to 10 years in Chiropractic! He has worked for many different clinics in Los Angeles before starting his own practice. He’s even worked in Croatia! He has seen what works and was able to create a practice combining aspects of what people loved from all walks of life. He has carefully created his own personalized custom method for each unique individual.

  • Once I try chiropractic do I have to come back forever?

No! We try to give our patients 100% resolution to their issues and then either send them on their way or let them choose to continue with treatment. Usually patients love the treatment so much that they don’t want to stop coming in because the body feels more functional compared to when they first came in. At this point, we consider it wellness and preventative care.

  • Can Chiropractic help with other problems besides the spinal issues

Yes. At The BodyFix Dr. Mario has a C.C.S.P (Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner) in Sports Injuries which he deals with all the time. We have worked from TMJ issues all the way down to the toes and everything in between.

  • Do I have to have my joints cracked/popped?

Absolutely Not! We have a lot of patients that are sensitive to touch so we use more gentle methods/techniques to get the results required. We believe there can always be an indirect solution without forceful adjusting (popping).
